Vacancies: The Rising Global Social Media Team

The Rising  is the first full-length feature film about Easter 1916. We are looking for tech-savvy social media specialists to help promote this groundbreaking film on our various social media platforms (Google+, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.) We are especially interested in those with connections to the Irish communities in Canada and Australia. Videographers, photographers and graphic designers are also especially welcome.

The ideal team member will have:
  • Experience managing non-personal social media accounts like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, etc.
  • The ability to communicate on social platforms for an online audience in a consistent voice.
  • An educational background in any one of the following fields: history, theatre, film, politics, Irish studies, those with experience in communications, marketing, journalism or other related majors are especially encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
  • Must be organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and an eager learner.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist the production and development team in creating content for our social media platforms.
  • Assist with our upcoming crowd-funding campaign.
  • Monitor press coverage of THE RISING, as well as the commemoration of events related to the Easter 1916 Rising; filmmaking in Ireland and abroad; as well as developments concerning the Irish diaspora.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

We will eventually offer paid and permanent positions to those who have done well on the team and are a good fit. This is an unpaid position, but it is an exciting opportunity to get your foot in the door on a major motion picture. Perks of this job will include an email account with therising.ie; a letter of recommendation for future jobs or internships; as well as the chance to work on various promotional and production duties. Members of the social media team may work as their schedule permits.
